Robin at The Other Mother decided that today was Reader Appreciation Day and who am I to disagree?
I am thankful to have readers period. When I started this blog it was mainly for my family. I never thought that 2 years later I would have so many readers. I also never thought I would make so many friends from blogging.
I found out about today from Stefania at City Mama and I thought it was fitting because she has been so helpful though this process for me. She is about 2 years ahead of me in the blogging world and that is a lifetime in this world. Stefania has become a mentor to me and more than that she has become a good friend.
On days when I want to quit this gig she knows exactly how I feel. I can ask her questions about making money from blogging and she can tell me the pros and cons without holding back. When my feelings are hurt about something she can tell me why I shouldn't let it bother me. She has also made me see that while the blogging world can seem like a sorority, there are people out to get you so you have to be careful. Wise, wise words.
As a friend she has been great too! Our kids have play dates, she invites me out with her friends and has been a shoulder to lean on during my difficult times. She has helped me with marriage advice and advice about raising kids. She is sometimes like a big sister that I never had. She is older (sorry to admit that) and wiser.
So while I appreciate my readers every day, today I am appreciating someone that has helped keep this blog alive. Thanks grrrrllll, you rock!
